Personal hospitality is about experiences that are individualized, spontaneous, and difficult to reproduce.
Hosts that move beyond the fundamentals to connect guests with the people, places, traditions, and moments around them.
These experiences are rarely expensive or elaborate: what makes them extraordinary is that they are specific to the guest, rooted in a real place, and made possible through community relationships and a strong operating foundation.
We are owners and managers of small, luxury properties — estates, ranches, boutique hotels and villas.
What works at one is rarely the exact template for another, so we share how we do things in the spirit of improving hospitality everywhere.
“The journey from guest to host.”
Our families love to travel - in particular, slow travel staying in small boutique hotels. When we stay at a unique spot, I seek out the owners and general managers to listen to their origin stories. I find it fascinating how resorts end up becoming a reality. We dreamt about launching our own boutique resort inspired by the places we’ve experienced authentic hospitality and most enjoyed ourselves. Borrowing the best aspects of these places that made them special and unique and avoid the things that cause friction and frustration.
Some favorites that have inspired us: Mashpi Lodge, Ecuador, Isla Secas, Panama, Hotel 27, Amsterdam, M/Y Black Swan, Villa La Ola, Punta Mita, The Ranch at Rock Creek, Montana, Enaidura Luxury Camp, Kenya, Campi Ya Kanzi, Kenya, The Singular, Patagonia.
In 2023 we started searching for properties and made the leap from guest to host purchasing an 800-year-old farm and villa in Tuscany Italy. It sits on 120 acres near Siena with 14 guest rooms, four pools, a spa, endless trails, and multiple gathering spaces.
Why Italy? It embodies the elements of slow travel - lingering over a meal, good conversations, enjoying the simple things. We found ourselves drawn to the unspoiled landscapes, the culture and the history.
Our vision is a place that blends informal luxury, authentic hospitality and immersive experiences. Our business model is full service, exclusive use hosting one guest group at a time.
